How to rock your midterms and all other exams
Midterms: the dreaded word that nearly every student is subjected to during their time at college. They do mark a happy time, as the semester is roughly halfway complete, but it comes with stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, and many more issues that nobody would wish upon their worst enemy. Students are essentially forced to stay up late while they cram for their exams, but many will forget the information when questions are presented that next morning. Thankfully, there are a handful of tips that can help even the worst procrastinators prepare for their major exams.

The few short weeks between Halloween and Thanksgiving can feel like they are going on forever, as students impatiently wait for the break from classes and all the work that starts to pile up mid-semester. Chris Di Cesare: The Ghost Boy of Erie Hall
In the winter of 1985, residents of Geneseo’s Erie Hall room “C2D1” were treated to a three-month-long paranormal fright, the likes of which were never before seen on campus, leaving the residents permanently altered by the ordeal. I sat down with one of these residents, an alumni class of ‘87, Chris Di Cesare—the former Lamron Comic Editor from ‘85-‘86— who illuminated specific details of this encounter from February through April of his sophomore year. Strap in and prepare for one of Geneseo’s most talked about yet least-known stories—the haunting of Erie Hall.
Frugal Foodie: advanced avocado toast
While avocado toast is a classic breakfast for many, you can only eat avocado on bread so many times before it gets boring. If you are craving that classic avocado on toast but need to add a little something new, try these tomato and avocado sandwiches. The recipe is perfect for two, or one if you’re feeling hungry!
How to properly prepare to register for classes
For many, course registration is a daunting and overwhelming task. It can be nerve-wracking for many to wonder if the classes they still need are going to be offered, if classes might fill up before they get the chance to claim a seat, or if they are even doing this whole registering thing correctly at all. To hopefully quell that stomach-turning tension I would like to offer those in this dilemma some advice from someone who loves registration season.

Invasion of Privacy: Marcia Podhorecki
The Not Dot shop on Main Street is a popular destination for students, but did you know that the name stands for “No One Thing Does One Thing”? I sat down with the owner of this one-of-a-kind store, Marcia Podhorecki, who describes the original idea behind the store being “to create a store that sold things that were something else before,” hence the acronym in their name.
An overlooked campus resource: The RTS bus system
Many students know of the campus bus which can take you into town to places like Walmart and Wegmans, but did you know that the bus can do so much more than just cart around town?
The 2023 FUSE Literary Conference is coming to SUNY Geneseo
The 2023 Forum for Undergraduate Student Editors (FUSE) Conference is being hosted by SUNY Geneseo and taking place from Nov. 2 to Nov. 4. The event will focus on the growth of literary journals (the title of the conference being “Literary Publishing in 2023: Where Are We Going, Where Have We Been?”) and hopes to explore how literary journals are adapting, changing, and struggling currently, and how they will evolve in the future. The FUSE website proposes the following questions; “How has the conversation changed, expanded, or diversified since the first literary journals were published? How has the changing world impacted the conversation? What will this conversation sound/look/feel like tomorrow?”
Geneseo a cappella starts off with a bang
This past Saturday evening on Oct. 14, students, families, friends, and random onlookers congregated in Wadsworth Auditorium to see all five of SUNY Geneseo’s a cappella groups for the first of two a cappella concerts in the fall semester. While there have been various gigs and smaller performances by the groups around campus, each semester only has two of these concerts in the Wadsworth Auditorium.

Frugal Foodie: Ricecooker pancakes
Cooking for college students can be difficult because of all of the appliances needed that are hardly realistic: Crock-Pots, rice cookers, salad spinners, toaster ovens—the list is endless. But if you happen to have a rice cooker but don’t feel like making rice, this rice cooker pancake recipe is perfect for you.
