Geneseo volleyball claims two sweeps this past weekend

On Friday, Sept. 29, Geneseo’s women’s volleyball team began their successful weekend against Potsdam with a score of 3-0 in their first of many SUNYAC games this season. The first set was led by senior outside hitter Madison Popielski, who dominated with three straight aces and set the mood for the rest of the game early on. Despite some unfortunate errors, senior opposite hitter Julia Wallace was able to come in with a big kill to wrap up the first set in a 25-21 victory.

The Buffalo Bills came into week three of the National Football League (NFL) season feeling energized after their dominant performance against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 17, in which they won by four touchdowns. Zach Wilson and beyond: Jets quarterback options for the 2023 season

The New York Jets escaped Metlife Stadium with a 22-16 win in overtime against the Buffalo Bills on Monday, Sept. 11. Fans were in a frenzy when Jets’ rookie wide receiver Xavier Gipson returned a punt 65 yards for the walk-off score; it was a spectacular moment, and an even better story as Gipson went undrafted in this year’s National Football League Draft. Sadly, the return and game at large were overshadowed by quarterback Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles earlier in the night.

Week one of the 2023 National Football League (NFL) season made it clear that the American Football Conference heavyweights are just as vulnerable as any other team. The Kansas City Chiefs lost opening night to the Detroit Lions, the Cincinnati Bengals were beaten down by the Cleveland Browns, and, of course, the Buffalo Bills looked completely incompetent against the Zach Wilson-led New York Jets.

The Yankees’ new class of Baby Bombers

The 2023 Yankees season has largely been a colossal disappointment for both the fanbase and the front office. General manager Brian Cashman bluntly labeled the season as a “disaster” in a recent press conference. Some of the more passionate Yankees fans would probably have some harsher adjectives to describe the team’s performance and the season as a whole.
