Geneseo hosted a two-day tournament this weekend, playing games against Carnegie Mellon on Friday, Nov. 3, and Rochester Institute of Technology on Saturday, Nov. 4, unfortunately losing both games and sitting at a record of 13 losses and 12 wins following regular season play.

Ice Knights continue their undefeated season with dominant wins over Brockport and Canton

The Geneseo Ice Knights went 2-0 over the weekend with wins over SUNY Brockport and Canton University. The game against Brockport took place on Friday, Nov. 3, with the Ice Knights winning the contest 6-2. The game against Canton took place the next night, with Geneseo winning 4-1 in another dominant outing. The team is now 4-0 on the season, having won all three games at the Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena, plus one on the road.

Ice Knights capture thrilling overtime victory in home opener versus Nazareth

The Geneseo Ice Knights held their home opener at the Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena against Nazareth on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Ice Knights won the game in thrilling fashion with a 3-2 win in overtime. The game was highly contested throughout, with each team losing and gaining on  the scoreboard. The overtime victory was an excellent way to kick off what should be another exciting season for the Geneseo.

Mens and womens cross country teams win SUNYAC titles again

The Geneseo Knights made history on Saturday, Oct. 28. The men’s cross country team won their ninth-consecutive SUNYAC title, and it wasn’t the only one claimed on Saturday, as the women’s team followed suit. The women claimed their 12th-straight SUNYAC title, with both programs having proven to be a major contribution to the success of Geneseo athletics over the last decade, and will surely continue to do so.

As the Major League Baseball (MLB) post-season comes down to the final two teams, it seems an opportune time to reminisce on the last four games of the 2004 American League Championship Series (ALCS) between historic rivals, the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. A Giant letdown

Last season, the New York Giants shocked the National Football League (NFL) world by going 9-7 and winning their first playoff game since their Super Bowl-winning season in 2011. During the offseason, the Giants only increased their talent through the draft and free agency. Geneseo Women’s Rugby ends their league season with a 4-1 record

On Saturday, Oct. 14, Geneseo’s women's rugby team played an exciting and rainy game against Le Moyne College. The Warthogs came out on top with a score of 34-0 and mercy ruled the Banshees within the first half of the match. The contest was their senior game which honored fly-half Hannah Reid, hooker Jillian Orr, second-row Rae Griffin, wing Nicole Petfield, and props Claire Bressette and Peyton Vanboden.

There was nobody better for the job than a former Knights All-American athlete with plenty of coaching experience at Geneseo; with that in mind, Alyssa Polosky assumed the role that summer.
