Geneseo clubs and organizations as zodiac signs

Astrology has become an increasingly popular way of navigating the world around us. We are fortunate enough to have a large number of wonderful clubs and organizations on our campus for our students to participate in. We wanted to assign each zodiac sign to a Geneseo club or organization, to highlight some of the amazing opportunities this campus has to offer and tell you a little bit about their personalities through the lens of astrology.

Aries - Student Association

Aries are natural-born leaders, with a desire to make real, concrete change and be in the room where it happens. Student Association, commonly referred to as SA, is a government that functions as a vehicle for Geneseo students to do just that. An opportunity to make a real impact on campus, SA and Aries are both powerful and important with a love for control and seeing the fruits of your labor.

Taurus - Great Outdoors Club

An Earth sign with a passion for exploration, but also a desire to remain grounded, Taurus’s are notorious for connecting with nature. Great Outdoors Club serves as a space for exploration and connecting with nature, a great stress reliever for an anxiety-inducing, fast-paced college life. Like Taurus’s, this club sees the beauty in all that nature has to offer.

Gemini - Chromatic

Geminis are artistic, quirky and exciting. Chromatic is a club that facilitates photoshoots and allows for individuals to express themselves in many different ways, with various themes each time they meet. Geminis have a passion for exploring all kinds of things, and never staying the same. Like a Gemini, Chromatic mixes it up, allowing for expression that serves to experiment and try new things.

Cancer - Pride Alliance

Cancers are sensitive and emotional. As a water sign, they are incredibly caring and passionate friends, who will drop anything to help someone in need. Pride Alliance functions as a vital safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and provides support and community in a way that is central to what it means to be a Cancer.

Leo - Southside Boys

Leos are confident, strong and commanding of attention. Southside Boys, Geneseo’s only all-male identifying a cappella group, does just that. Their large size, powerful voices, and classic song choices draw them attention and validation each time they perform, and for good reason. Leos love the spotlight, but they have it for a reason.

Virgo - The Lamron

Virgos are meticulous, organized and analytical. The Lamron seeks to investigate the truth about different topics, as well as serve as a vehicle for communication about what’s going on at Geneseo and in the greater community and world. Like Virgos, The Lamron is reliable and focused on the facts.

Libra - Iris Magazine

With a passion for justice and doing what’s right, Libras always thrive to create space for silenced voices. Libras are also incredibly flirty and are social butterflies. Iris Magazine is SUNY Geneseo’s first ever queer literary magazine and has created a space for queer individuals on campus to express themselves and be heard. Iris’ flirty, fun aesthetic mixed with their substantial, emotionally resonant pieces embodies what it is to be a Libra.

Scorpio - Art Club

Sensitive and emotional, but a little bit mysterious, Scorpios won’t show you their cards right away, but they have a lot of feelings and want to express them. Art Club functions as a space for creativity and expression of vulnerability, without having to be vulnerable in front of a huge group of people.

Sagittarius - OGX

A fire sign notorious for their impulse and passion, Sagittarius leave their mark wherever they go. OGX, a high-energy, talented dance group, leaves an impact with their passionate, energized and exciting performances at every event. Their presence is made known through their strong skill and personality, like any Sagittarius.

Capricorn - Marketing Club

Driven, determined, and motivated by success, Capricorns are known for their success in the business world, and their impressive ability to stay on top of things and be dedicated to the grind. Capricorns also have a creative side to them, however, that often lays beneath the surface. Marketing allows them to express this aspect of themselves, still in a productive, business-oriented way.

Aquarius - Beekeeping Club

A sign notorious for being quirky, Aquarians are loveable, lovely and unique. Beekeeping Club allows students to try something new, and something important while exploring a new activity. A space to connect with something new and whimsical, but also concrete and important, Beekeeping perfectly captures just what it is to be an Aquarius.

Pisces - Musical Theater Club

Musical Theater Club, commonly referred to as MTC, is a performance ensemble that puts on a revue show each semester. Dedicated to their work, they spend many hours rehearsing each weekend, giving up their free time for something they’re passionate about and the betterment of the group. Like Pisces, who are loving and sensitive, MTC is a group of individuals who value community.
