One offseason move for every NFL team: Part 2

The reigning Super Bowl Champions should keep one thing and one thing only on their mind, and that is resigning all expired contracts, in order to keep their already stellar roster.
In part one of “One offseason move for every NFL team,” every team in the bottom half of the National Football Conference (NFC) rankings were suggested a move that would improve their team going into the 2025-2026 National Football League (NFL) season. The bottom half of the rankings are typically teams in a “rebuilding” stage, with either a high draft pick, a ton of cap space, or both. The top half of the rankings is typically a different story. These teams are normally complete teams with superstar talent. This results in teams having fewer draft picks, so it is quite difficult to improve their roster. That said, here is one move every NFC team should make.
The Seattle Seahawks:
The Seattle Seahawks desperately need some offensive line help. The Seahawks are negative in cap room, so it will be difficult to sign free-agent talent. The Seahawks are likely going to have to take the best offensive linemen available in this year's draft at the eighteenth pick.
The Green Bay Packers:
The Green Bay Packers should acquire a wide receiver this offseason. The Packers are in a great spot. The team went 11-6 last season and made the playoffs. It is now going into the offseason with the fourteenth most cap space and the twenty-third pick in this year's draft. The Packers could trade for a superstar wide receiver or draft one available to them at the twenty-third pick.
The Washington Commanders:
The Washington Commanders should sign a defensive superstar this offseason. The Commanders are in a similar position as the Packers, however, they made it to the conference championship and have the third most cap space in the NFL. The Commanders were constantly in high-scoring games this past season and have the money to acquire a big-time playmaker for any position on their defense.
The Minnesota Vikings:
The Minnesota Vikings should find some offensive linemen to help this offseason. Somehow, just like the Commanders and the Packers, the Vikings are yet another playoff team with a ton of cap space, the seventh most, to be exact. The Vikings are likely going to start rookie JJ McCarthy under center next season. To protect their franchise quarterback coming off of a major knee injury, the Vikings should either sign some offensive line help or draft a lineman to protect McCarthy better.
The Los Angeles Rams:
The Los Angeles Rams should start over this offseason. Although the Rams are continuing the improbable trend of playoff teams with cap space, the Rams are an aging team with big-time holes. The Rams have a very poor secondary and an even worse offensive line, and their biggest stars are all getting older. The Rams have been pretty mediocre since their Super Bowl victory in 2022 and should consider trading stars like quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp before it’s too late.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers should find an offensive pass catcher this offseason. Wide receiver Chris Godwin’s contract has expired, and wide receiver Mike Evans and tight end Cade Otton can’t carry all of the pass-catching work. The Buccaneers are pretty set at running back and, luckily, have the nineteenth pick in the NFL draft to help find their next offensive playmaker.
The Philadelphia Eagles:
The Philadelphia Eagles should sign all expired contracts and run them back. The Eagles dominated the entire playoffs and are coming off one of the most shocking blowouts in Super Bowl history. After the Eagles started 2-2, the team went 16-1, including the playoffs, for the remainder of the season. The Eagles figured it out, developed some amazing chemistry, and have no reason not to run it back and compete for another championship.
The Detroit Lions:
The Detroit Lions should do their research and sign personnel that they trust this offseason. The Lions offensive and defensive coordinator left for head coaching jobs this offseason. The team's roster is one of the more complete teams in the NFL, and they need to have exceptional coaching to help them avenge their heartbreaking loss in the playoffs.
As odd as it may sound, it is more important for these top eight teams to make roster improvements than the bottom eight teams. These teams are in a super small championship window and need to act fast to give themselves the best chance to compete for the ultimate prize. The American Football Conference (AFC) is up next!
