Retraction Statement: Notice to Readers

The latest publication of The Lamron, on February 21, 2025 (Volume CIV, Issue X), included an article titled “Geneseo art exhibit spreads love and support.” This article contained an inexcusable amount of plagiarism and improper citations to the source from which it garnered its topic— and has now been removed from the website by the Editor-in-Chief. The original publication from which it plagiarized is entitled “Local postcard art exhibit aims to stamp out seasonal depression,” by Assistant Editor Alyssa Hill of The Livingston County Newspaper. We extend our sincerest apologies to both Alyssa Hill and the editors of The Livingston County Newspaper— all of whom have served as exemplary examples of proper journalistic integrity to our paper and staff. 

Going forward, The Lamron hopes to improve its standards for source garnering and provide the SUNY Geneseo and its adjacent communities with quality, original perspectives on local, global, and academic news. We believe in our mission to provide relevant, accurate, original, and up-to-date news for the Geneseo population to enjoy.
