Frugal Foodie: Creamy miso pasta

Spaghetti is an extremely versatile food, leaving endless pasta options to choose from. This creamy miso pasta recipe is perfect for an easy yet flavorful new pasta dish. The recipe uses just one pot, can feed up to four people, and is perfect for sharing with your roommates!

Ingredients:

  • Kosher salt

  • 16 ounces spaghetti 

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter 

  • 3 tablespoons red or white miso

  • 4 ounces (1 packed cup) grated parmesan cheese

Directions:

Step 1: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente. Put aside 1 ½ cups of pasta water and drain the spaghetti. 

Step 2: Add butter, miso, and 1 ½ cups of pasta water to the pot. Whisk over medium heat until fully combined and miso has broken down. 

Step 3: Return the pasta to the pot, along with the parmesan cheese. Stir consistently until pasta is completely coated in the sauce. Share among your friends and enjoy!
