Love is in the air: Welcome to Libra season!
There is always a sense of wistfulness, romance, and sweet mystique in the air as autumn approaches. Perhaps it’s the rapid recoloration of foliage, the scent of gathering fall leaves, or the gentle nips of chill in the air that encourage us to pull out our coziest sweaters—or, maybe it’s just Libra season.
To preserve journalistic integrity (as we all know is of the utmost importance in pieces as influential and hard-hitting as astrology features), it must be made known at this time that I myself am a Libra, and will probably both draw from anecdotal life experience and demonstrate a great deal of bias throughout this article. Let’s get started!
A cardinal air sign ruled by the planet Venus, Libras are often conveyed as the lovers and dreamers that move the seasons along. The typical signifies of an air sign are all at play most clearly in a Libra sun, being free-moving spirits that want to experience different spaces and people to the utmost extent; as a result, Libras are often classified as both flirtatious and intellectual, attempting to find a balance between the beauty and genuine experience that life has to offer.
Ruled by the constellation of scales, Libras possess a characteristic focus on balance, constantly trying to assess and re-assess the integrity and equilibrium of their own life as well as the world around them; this intention makes Libras fantastic candidates for passions and careers relating to justice, socialness, and aestheticism. If you are looking to find how these characteristics operate in a person’s life and presentation, look no further than famous Libras Doja Cat, Donald Glover, Mitski, Gwenyeth Paltrow, Oscar Wilde, Mahatma Gandhi, and of course, the quintessential Libra queen, Kim Kardashian.
Libra culture is defined by the sort of rose-colored glasses that popular culture associates with romantics; however, what does this implicate might happen when the lenses are removed? With such a strong focus on adoration and aestheticism, Libras are just as likely to be called shallow or petty, sometimes even giving off an air of fake pleasantry or friendliness in the way that they spread their energy across places and people.
This is not to attack Libras or Libra culture, but rather to warn all signs that this may be a time of the year where they might feel called to fulfill similar downfalls. There are dozens of positive Libra attributes to exemplify and integrate into your own lifestyle over the next month, but proceed with caution.
This romantic energy that sets beautifully into the autumn air is not one to shy away from in any way; a friendly and welcoming sign, any Libra will be the first to tell you that this is the peak time of year to act on any and all Libra qualities that we each possess within. As phrased by my favorite Geneseo Libra, junior English and political science double major Mia Donaldson, “There is nothing more fulfilling than someone asking for your sign and getting to respond with ‘Libra.’ I feel genuinely sorry for anyone who will never get to experience this simple pleasure.”
Libra season is the time to try out something as minimal as a new haircut or style, or something as courageous as asking out the cutie sitting in front of you in chemistry. Beyond the lovey-dovey, this is a great time to try attracting any and all new energy into your life—perhaps you’re looking to branch out socially or expand your horizons in your creative or personal aspirations. My friend, let me tell you—the time is now.
