Are you a writer, poet, photographer, or artist? Gandy Dancer is for you!

Gandy Dancer, the SUNY-wide literary journal, is looking for submissions for its Fall 2022 issue! For those that work either in their major or extracurriculars in the creative space, Gandy Dancer is not only a welcoming and open space for you to submit to—for those who are accepted, it is a perfect resume/portfolio builder.

For fiction and creative nonfiction writers, here are the guidelines: submissions must be 25 pages or less, in Times New Roman, and double-spaced. For fiction specifically, we tend to lean toward literary fiction, but genre pieces that focus on short-term storytelling rather than long-term worldbuilding are more than welcome. For creative nonfiction, all submissions will be considered for the Parry Family Nonfiction prize with an award of $100!

For poetry: Three to five poems max. All poems should be submitted in a single document.

For visual art and photography: Up to five submissions can be accepted. Whether it is physical art like painting, drawing, sketching, sculpture, or digital art and photography, any quality works are welcome!

All of this information and more can be found at gandydancer.org! This is also the place to find older issues as well as blog posts and the masthead for this semester (all of which are Geneseo students). Guidelines for how to submit are here as well!

As Head Prose editor this semester, I look forward to seeing your work! Any questions can be directed to gandydancer@geneseo.edu!
